Vandals tear up playing fields at Florham Park elementary school
(08/08/06) FLORHAM PARK ? Parents in Florham Park say they?re outraged after vandals caused extensive damage to playing fields at a middle school.
According to police, the vandals drove an SUV or all-terrain vehicle across the playing fields at Ridgedale Middle School. The individuals tore up grass in various spots and broke two sprinkler heads. The act of vandalism is hitting parents and students especially hard because the fields were part of a recent renovation project.
The damage at Ridgedale Middle School is the second reported act of destruction to a New Jersey elementary school this week. Vandals also trashed and flooded classrooms at an elementary school in Boonton over the weekend.
