Workers at the United Catering Plant in Newark are honoring co-workers who have died from COVID-19.
Forty-two United Catering workers have tested positive for the virus; four have died.
Co-workers drove by the plant creating a memorial. The employees say that they are fighting for new safety protocols at the facility. They say that the company needs to take better precautions against the virus.
“We demand more safety. When we go back to work this week I want to feel safe and also, I think he company needs to disinfect and ask people to get the coronavirus test,” says employee Victoria Cavala.
The building is being disinfected every two hours. Everyone inside must wear masks and gloves.
