Several more schools in New Jersey were under lockdown Thursday due to threats allegedly made against the school.
At least one school in the Garden State has been put into lockdown a day since the Feb. 14 mass shooting at a Florida high school.
In the latest incidents in New Jersey, a 10-year-old boy was criminally charged for allegedly emailing threats that prompted the closure of three schools in Gloucester County. The boy was charged with making terroristic threats and causing a false public alarm. Police say the schools will reopen Friday.
Lodi High School was under lockdown Thursday after police say a teacher found a “hard to read” message in the boy’s bathroom that made reference to “1 p.m.” Police blocked all entrances and five police cars were stationed in front of the school.
The school superintendent later called parents and said that no evidence of a threat was found. No arrests have so far been made in that incident.
