Thousands of people in New Jersey went to Chick-fil-A restaurants across the state in support of the company's recent public announcement of views on same-sex marriage.
The company's CEO, Dan Cathy, recently said that he opposes same-sex marriage.
The announcement created a massive backlash against the company by supporters of same-sex marriage.
In response to the backlash, former Republican presidential candidate Mick Huckabee urged people to go to Chick-fil-A today in support of the company, declaring the day "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."
Same-sex marriage supporters say they will counter the event this Friday by holding a "kiss-in" at the restaurants.
