Some tenants at a New Brunswick apartment complex are suing the building?s owner over claims of filthy, brown water.
The complex Tov Manor is located on Phelps Avenue. The tenants said they have been complaining about the brown water for weeks, but nothing has been done.
?We?ve brought in samples in glass jars and showed it to [management],? tenant Shauan Loewen-Schmidt said. ?The response is ?you?re the only one who is complaining.??
More than a dozen tenants have now filed a lawsuit against the building?s owner, claiming management didn?t act on their complaints.
Two separate water-testing companies, one hired by the tenants and one hired by the owner, took samples from a fire hydrant and from some apartments. The companies will test for lead and other contaminates.
An attorney for Tov Manor said they are going to fully investigate the issue.
