A judge earlier this week ruled that a Long Branch teen charged in the 2017 shooting deaths of his mother, father, sister and "grandmother" will face the charges in adult court.
The information came from an announcement from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office.
Scott Kologi, 18, faces four counts of first-degree murder, and one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The state's motion to waive Kologi's case to Superior Court was recently granted in Monmouth County Family Court.
A first appearance is scheduled for Nov. 20.
According to police, back on Dec. 31, 2017, around 11:45 p.m., police responded to the residence at 635 Wall St. for a report of a shooting. Scott, then 16, was arrested at the residence.
As part of the investigation, a rifle was secured and later identified as the weapon used in the homicides.  Four people inside the home were dead.
The victims were identified as the suspect's father, Steven Kologi, 44; mother Linda Kologi, 42; sister Brittany Kologi, 18; and family acquaintance, Mary Schultz, 70. The teen’s 20-year-old brother and grandfather were able to escape the attack.
Officials said the gun used in the killings was legally registered to a member of the household.
