Five people were injured when a tanker truck overturned and crushed two cars Wednesday morning in Bernardsville
It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Anderson Hill Road near Seney Drive, according to Bernardsville police.
Police tell News 12's Tony Caputo that the tanker was not supposed to be on the road because it was too heavy.
The tanker, carrying gasoline, was trying to get up a hill when it stalled out and started drifting backward, police say. The two cars involved in the incident were behind the truck.
The people who were injured are in stable condition, with one person taken from the scene by a medevac helicopter, according to police. The truck driver refused medical treatment.
