A student suffered a minor injury after a crash involving a school bus on Route 4 in Bergen County.
The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office says that the crash happened around 9 a.m. on Route 4 West near Hackensack Avenue.
Officials say that a car rear-ended a Mini-Cooper, which in turn crashed into the back of the school bus. The bus was full of children.
One student complained of some pain, but no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Monday’s crash is the latest in several incidents involving school buses in New Jersey. State lawmakers have introduced a bill that would require three-point shoulder and lap seat belts on all school buses. The bill was introduced after a student and teacher from Paramus were killed in a school bus crash on Interstate-80 in May.
