Stratford Wednesday held its annual veterans breakfast honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Veterans and their families were invited to Vazzy's in Stratford for a hearty breakfast.
Town officials say It's something the town has done since 2012.
Mayor Laura Hoydick says it's a tradition that started with the previous administration that she's happy to carry forward.
"It's just a nice way for us to say thank you to make up for the travesty after the Vietnam War where the veterans weren't appreciated, and we never want that to happen again," Hoydick says.
Town officials say they have served breakfast to more than 1,000 veterans from all five branches of the military since the event started seven years ago.
