Two male victims were killed and six others were injured following a shooting near the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick Sunday, investigators say.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. at a house on 32 Delafield St., which is reportedly being used as off-campus housing for the school.
When police arrived, they found eight people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Video from a home security camera shows a dark-colored sedan pulling up to the house at 1:18 a.m. Four armed suspects in hooded sweatshirts and long pants are seen jumping out of the car, then opening fire on a house party. In less than 30 seconds, they are seen getting back in the car and driving off.
More than 40 shots were reportedly fired at the location, which is within a few blocks of the Rutgers University campus.

Victims were transported to various hospitals in the area. Two male victims were pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

The motive leading up to the shooting is still unknown, but a neighbor says the shots were fired outside a house party.

"It sounded like again a pack of fireworks going off in succession," says George Beedenkap. "And maybe five to 10 minutes later, I heard the sound of police cruisers speeding up the street."

So far, the investigation has determined there is no affiliation with Rutgers University or its students.
Jacob Beacher, 20, said he was inside his home with friends close to where the shooting took place. At first they took cover, and then Beacher said he was one of the first people outside after the shooting.
"I saw two people on the pavement, so I ran over to them and try to like do CPR and check for a pulse and stuff. You know, just this kid the same age as me, I'm 20 years old. This kid I could've went to high school with, I could've known, no he was just on the ground just bleeding out and I just couldn't believe it," he says.
Investigators ask anyone with information on the shooting to contact the New Brunswick Police Department or Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
