2020 Hambletonian races into the Meadowlands this weekend

The 95th running of the Hambletonian races into the Meadowlands this weekend and will look a little different due to COVID-19.
Hambletonian Society President John Campbell says the race is wide open and for the first time in nearly 25 years, two fillies compete in the 10-horse field.
"Throughout history, there's been trials and tribulations and great horses, and great horse racing has brought people together before, and I think that's what's going to happen here on Saturday," says Campbell.
About 2,400 people will be permitted into the track Saturday and will be spread out in different sections to maintain social distancing. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
Officials say all spectators must undergo temperature checks, fill out a health questionnaire and wear masks.
A 16-race card will kick off the event at noon. The 2020 Hambletonian goes off around 4:30 p.m.
Tickets for the event are still available.
