The petition states, "Gov. Murphy's office already has received a "Safe Celebrations" plan outlining how events can be conducted safely. Now it's time for him to provide a reopening date. On behalf of all the couples, the venues, photographers, florists, musicians and others who are struggling in this economy, we have urged the governor to provide a reopening date and to end the uncertainty. Today, we're asking you for your help. Please email, tweet, call, and Facebook Gov. Murphy to tell him we need a date for reopening wedding venues, and we need it now!"
The wedding season began weeks ago, but due to COVID-19, hundreds of celebrations across New Jersey have been postponed.
