1,107ds agoThousands of people attended a march in Hoboken Friday in protest of the death of George Floyd.
The march started in the north at Maxwell Place and continued south to the pier and to City Hall. It went from 1 p.m. to about 3:30 p.m.

Police say between 3,000 to 5,000 people attended the march.
Businesses in the area boarded up windows in anticipation of the rally, but the event remained peaceful.
Officers were seen in riot gear but they took a knee in support of the movement.
Participants rallied in support of racial equality and in protest of the death of George Floyd. Many in the crowd held signs, one saying, "Racism is a pandemic."
Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla showed his support for the march and its message.
"There are clearly hundreds of people here, which is a great sign that people are outraged at the murder of George Floyd. People want to make themselves heard," says Bhalla.
Washington Street closed during the march, but it has since reopened.
