Tens of thousands of people are without power in New Jersey after powerful thunderstorms tore through the Garden State.

The storms brought strong wind and heavy rain to areas of southeastern New Jersey. The National Weather Service even issued a tornado warning for parts of Camden County for a time.

The wind caused trees around the state to be uprooted, including at a home in Manasquan. The tree landed on the home with the branches sprawled across the roof and front lawn. The woman who lived at the home was not hurt.

Another downed tree closed part of Station Avenue in Haddonfield. The tree got caught up in some of the overhead utility wires.

Gloucester Township in Camden County also took a hit, with trees falling on to power lines and homes.

At the height of the store, over 176,000 customers were without power. Over 120,000 utility customers remained without power as of 10 p.m. Wednesday. Crews were out making repairs to get the power restored.
