About 400 people showed up to a chilly closed Point Pleasant Beach to make themselves heard.
Across the street, the boardwalk remains locked and gated, and the rides and attractions, silent for another weekend.
Michael Favato opened his restaurant Pizza Plus despite having access from the boardwalk blocked.
In order to get there, customers will have to navigate the Jenkinson's rides, an agreement he says he worked out with the landlords.
Favato questions why other towns like Belmar and Seaside Heights had a successful reopening last weekend.
Meanwhile, Gov. Murphy weighed in on Monday’s rally to a national cable news audience.
"I don't begrudge their right to protest but they don't sway me. The only thing that sways me are the facts and the data and the science," Murphy says.
It appears his words rang hollow to the hundreds of people who gathered in the Silver Lake parking lot, many who say the damage from the shut down has already been done.
