The state Department of Labor says online unemployment applications are down, according to a statement on Twitter.
It's the latest example of an antiquated system dealing with an unprecedented crush.
Almost 900,000 people in New Jersey have filed for benefits.
The Department of Labor says, "We understand the frustration of this unplanned outage, and are working diligently to fix the problem."
