Essex, Burlington counties open drive-through coronavirus testing sites

Essex County's first drive-through coronavirus testing site is opening at Weequahic Park in Newark.

The site is open only to residents with appointments between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

In addition to today, the site will be open on Saturday, and then next Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

County residents must go through a questionnaire before making an appointment, either through the county's coronavirus website, or by calling the county's Office of Emergency Management at 973-324-9950.

Burlington County is also opening a drive-through coronavirus screening facility.

The testing site in Westampton is for residents and first responders who are symptomatic and have an appointment.

Residents can make an appointment by calling 609-726-7097 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
