Glen Head father, daughter convicted of neglecting disabled dog

Posted: Updated:

A Nassau County father and daughter have been convicted of abusing their handicapped dog.

Gregory Bagwell, 71, and his 31-year-old daughter Christine, of Glen Head, were found guilty of animal torture.

Prosecutors say they neglected their 5-year-old handicapped pit bull-mix named Kacii.

Prosecutors say in June of 2018, a good Samaritan called the SPCA after the dog was found dragging herself on the pavement outside of the Bagwell's home.

At the time, Kacii had open and infected wounds and was emaciated.

She has since recovered from her injuries and is being cared for in a foster home.

The Bagwells are due back in court on April 24 for sentencing.
