Music legend Paul McCartney was spotted in Metuchen this weekend in a photo that has since gone viral.
The photograph was taken by John Manzo – a childhood friend of News 12’s Brian Donohue, who he hadn’t seen in 30 years.
Manzo spotted McCartney outside of the Buttery Bake Shoppe in town. McCartney said that he was taking pictures in town.
What many may not know is that McCartney has some connection to New Jersey via his wife Nancy Shevell.
Shevell is a true “Jersey Girl.” She grew up in Edison and helped run the New England Motor Freight company in Elizabeth. It is a trucking company that her father started. That company's in Chapter 11 now. But by all accounts, she was a great business person in the male dominated industry of trucking.
Manzo said that he was taken aback to see McCartney in Metuchen and even gave the former Beatle a very “Jersey” welcome.
“I did use the F-word,” Manzo joked.
