Prosecutor: Human bones found while Teaneck home undergoes excavation project

What appears to be human bones were found in the yard of a Teaneck home that was undergoing a home improvement project.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office says that the home – located at 139 Van Arsdale Place – was in the process of remodeling and crews were out excavating the lawn. But officials say that on Wednesday, crews discovered what appears to be human bones. One of the bones resembles a portion of a human skull, according to authorities.
The remains have been turned over the New Jersey state anthropologist who will run some tests to confirm if the bones are human.
Excavation at the home has stopped while investigators look for more remains. Additional bones have been found.
It was unclear how long the bones have been in the ground. The homeowners are not implicated, according to the prosecutor.
