A man has been arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in Brownsville on Saturday, officials say.

Police tell News 12 that 45-year-old Andre Clarke, of Staten Island, raped the victim at her house around 9 a.m.

Investigators say this was not a random assault and it is believed that Clarke and the victim knew each other beforehand. Police have not said how they know each other.

Medical workers took the victim to the hospital in stable condition.

Sources say Clarke may be connected to another sexual assault case. There are few details on that second incident but the victim is not related to the 11-year-old Brownsville girl.

Clarke is facing several charges, including rape and sexual abuse.
