Prosecutor’s office: Teacher performed ‘indecent act’ while on school property

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office says a man has been arrested after allegedly performing an ‘indecent act’ in the presence of a minor student while on school property.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office says a man has been arrested after allegedly performing an ‘indecent act’ in the presence of a minor student while on school property.
The incident happened back on Jan. 2020.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Joshua Eckersley, 33, of Berkeley Township, is a teacher in the Central Regional School District. He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and lewdness.
The prosecutor’s office says the investigation was initiated after the minor victim disclosed the incident to authorities. 
Eckersley was surrendered by his attorney. He was processed and released pending a future court date.
