Large row house fire displaces over 30 people in Jersey City

A large fire displaced over 30 people in 10 different families in Jersey City Wednesday morning.
The fire started around 3:30 a.m. Monday inside a two-story house on Mercer Street.
The Jersey City Fire Department says that the fire traveled through a small alley and spread from the first home to the building next-door - a three-story apartment building - leaving 36 people without a place to live.
The American Red Cross responded to the scene to provide assistance to the families.
The first took several hours to get under control, with around 70 firefighters working on the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
