Winter’s almost over and it has barely shown itself

Posted: Updated:

Feb. 3 marked the halfway point through winter – but you wouldn’t really know it based on the day’s weather.

Monday saw mostly sunny skies with temperatures nearing 60 – weather more suited for the beginning of spring instead of the dead of winter.

The Climate Prediction Center is calling for the weather to remain the same for most of the east for the next 6-10 days. New Jersey is likely to see temperatures above the normal high of the upper-30s.

The warmer weather has caused some plants around the state to begin to bloom.

Most of the United States has seen above-average temperatures this winter, although the upper Midwest is expected to see below average.

There are only 45 days left until the first day of spring.
