Posted: Updated:

A new survey has come out with the drunkest states in the U.S., and New Jersey ranked near the bottom.

According to the survey done by SafeHome.org, New Jersey ranks 38th when it comes to heavy drinking.

The survey says 57% of adults drink regularly in the state, 26% binge drink, and the alcohol consumption per person was 2.33 gallons a year.

The District of Columbia finished first on the list, followed by Vermont and South Dakota.

Georgia was ranked 50th.

The website received their data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the CDC and the FBI.
