Murphy to lay out 2020 agenda in State of the State speech

Posted: Updated:

(AP) - Gov. Phil Murphy is set to lay out his agenda for the year as he delivers his second State of the State address.

Murphy, a Democrat, will address a joint-session of the Democrat-led Legislature on Tuesday.

Murphy is a self-styled progressive and former Wall Street executive who took office in 2018.

He succeeded Chris Christie and spent the past two years undoing many policies enacted by the Republican. He signed gun control legislation, a phased-in $15 minimum wage and tax hikes to pay for transit and education.

Gov. Murphy will also appear this week on News 12 New Jersey for our latest edition of Ask Gov. Murphy. It airs on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. Do you have a question for Gov. Murphy?
