Officials say an incident with a violent passenger at Newark Liberty International Airport sent six Port Authority officers and a flight attendant to the hospital Thursday.

Officials say an incident with a violent passenger at Newark Liberty International Airport sent six Port Authority officers and a flight attendant to the hospital Thursday.
It happened when a United Airlines flight landed from Washington, D.C. Police say officers were waiting after 28-year-old Matthew Dingley was accused of assaulting a flight attendant in the air.
They say Dingley charged at the officers, causing them to fall down the plane's stairs. One officer suffered four broken ribs.
Dingley faces charges including aggravated assault, criminal trespassing, resisting arrest and interfering with transportation.
