Police: Bicyclist struck and killed on Route 27 in Edison

Posted: Updated:

A 44-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday morning in Edison.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office says that Oscar Zanoni was riding his bike on Route 27 near Vineyard Road around 10:45 a.m. when a tractor-trailer struck him.

Zanoni was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.

Police were initially looking for the driver of the truck and said that it was possible that the driver did not know that they had struck Zanoni.

Police say that the truck driver was located and is cooperating with the investigation.
