Prosecutors: Paterson 14-year-old shoots 2 men involved in fight, kills 1

A teenage boy is charged with murder after he allegedly shot two men involved in a street fight, killing one and wounding the other.

Passaic County prosecutors say that the incident occurred in front of a restaurant on the 300 block of Rosa Parks Boulevard. Prosecutors say that a woman dropped off a man, identified as 24-year-old Quadir McRae and the 14-year-old boy at the restaurant late Friday afternoon.

A short time later, the man got into a fight outside the restaurant with 22-year-old city resident Sadott Free. Authorities say that the teen soon opened fire with a handgun, shooting Free in the torso and the man in the leg.

Free later died from his wounds, while McRae was treated at a hospital.

The teen was not identified due to this age.
