Final chapter of the ‘Star Wars’ saga opens in theaters

The final chapter of the “Star Wars” saga opened in theaters Thursday night.
Fans lined up outside the Menlo Park Mall for the first showing of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” – including Metuchen Mayor Jonathan Busch.
"I am so excited about this movie. This franchise in general, at least for me, is one of the few things that makes me feel like a kid again. And to have a new movie on top of the other eight, and I guess the other stories that have been released, the ‘Star Wars,’ it's a dream come true for me."
The movie received a standing ovation when it had its official premiere earlier this week. But some early critic reviews of the film have been less-than-stellar.
But ticket sales have been going strong. Disney, the company that owns the rights to “Star Wars,” estimates that the movie will make $350 million globally in its debut.
