There is compelling video out of Essex County after downed wires ignite in the middle of a busy roadway and destroy a cab as well.
PSE&G says about 350 customers remain without power after heavy ice and wind led to downed power lines, two broken utility poles and a car fire here around 1:30 a.m. on Highland and Bloomfield avenues.
Firefighters were unable to get to the car fire because of the downed live wires.
News 12 understands PSE&G had to shut down power in the area so firefighters could gain access and get the flames under control.
An Ecuamerica taxi cab was also destroyed after the wires apparently set it ablaze as well.
There is no word on any injuries.
PSE&G hopes to have everyone back in line no later than 6 p.m.
