Ice-covered power lines and trees created issues throughout much of the northern part of New Jersey on Wednesday, including on Winding Way in West Orange.

Dozens of homes were without power after Tuesday's ice storm.

Incredible video, captured by a young man who lives across town just off Eagle Rock Avenue, showed what is believed to be a transformer exploding.

“It’s crazy,” said Garreth Beaton. “Yesterday, I came out and it was just all covered in ice. Yesterday was worse than this. It’s crazy.”

Early Wednesday morning on Holmhill Way in nearby Roseland, a downed power line was arching, captured by News 12 cameras.

One neighbor’s tree came crashing down on to another’s home and car late Tuesday night.

“The kids got candlesticks together, they went upstairs and as they went upstairs we heard I guess this come down and crash down, and they were beyond scared,” says David Acosta

The owner of the home says she and her family were forced to spend the night in a hotel.

Most will be able to get back to a normal life once the power is restored, but others have plenty of work to do with their insurance companies.
