Police: Woman killed after falling off subway platform, landing in between 2 of moving train

NEW YORK -

Police say a woman who had just gotten off a subway train was killed by that train after she fell off the platform and landed in between two of the moving train cars.

According to the New York Police Department, the 23-year-old woman had gotten off the train Sunday around 12:20 a.m. at the Broadway Junction station in Brooklyn. Her companion, a 24-year-old woman, suffered a fractured left arm.

Police say the pair began to walk down the platform as the train started moving and somehow fell.

The 23-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities believe the women were intoxicated.
