Big SNOW American Dream, North America's first real-snow, year-round indoor ski and snowboard park, had its grand opening Thursday at the American Dream mega mall in East Rutherford.
The park offers quite the snow experiences within a 180,000-square foot, 16-story, climate-controlled ski slope. A trail map shows three trails and four lifts, including two carpet lifts. There will be a snow play area for people not interested in skiing or snowboarding. The map also mentions a gourmet hot cocoa shop.

World Champion and Olympic Gold Medal ski racer Lindsey Vonn rode the first ski lift at the opening.

Burton Snowboards Global Team Rider and US Olympic Gold Medalist Red Gerard and Global Team Rider Ben Ferguson were also there to help kick things off.
Big SNOW is located on the second floor of the A wing of American Dream.

The temperature inside is 28 degrees and is kept that way. The park offers 4 acres of skiing and makes 4.4 tons of snow per hour, which is 1,100 gallons per hour.

The park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and packages start at $49.99 — 6 years old and under is free with an adult ticket.

Emergency Medical Services and Ski Patrol will be available at the location at all times for safety.

The closest parking lot to Big SNOW will be located in the A Deck, which is the deck the ski slope sits upon.

Big SNOW American Dream will be operated by New Jersey-based SNOW Operating, which runs Mountain Creek.
