Thousands of runners hit the streets in Princeton on Thanksgiving, raising tens of thousands of dollars for local charities.
The annual Trinity Turkey Trot 5K in Mercer County brought runners from all over the country to have a little fun on Thanksgiving morning.
Two special runners were part of the event for the very first time – Gov. Phil Murphy and his wife Tammy.
The event raised money for four local charities, two in Princeton and two in Trenton.
"This event has become an incredible community event for people, it's a real homecoming of sorts, brings the people together not only from town but around the region," says race director Maureen Westerman.
Around 2,000 runners entered, and the winning time came in around the 15-minute mark.
