Posted: Updated:

A new medical marijuana dispensary expected to open in the next few weeks in Paterson held a job fair Tuesday.

There will be about 20 positions to be filled at the dispensary, with positions ranging from cashiers to managers. Over 1,000 people submitted job applications. Officials are hoping to fill 98% of the staff with Paterson residents.

The dispensary was looking for individuals with a background in health who wanted to get involved in an upcoming field.

“I believe it’s the future. Medicinal marijuana…is upcoming, and I want to get my foot in the door,” says potential job candidate Martin Cohello.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new dispensary is expected to be held within the next month.
