Authorities: Apartment fire leaves 1 dead in Linden

Authorities in Linden say a resident was killed after a fire broke out in an apartment building.
The fire happened Monday shortly after 8:00 p.m. on the 1400 block of McCandless Street.
Multiple crews arrived to find the second floor fully engulfed in heavy smoke and visible flames.
According to authorities, firefighters found Cyril Spinks, 26, in a second-floor apartment. He was later pronounced dead.
The fire destroyed the apartments on the second floor of the building. A business located on the first-floor sustained smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, but is not considered suspicious.
