It may be a bit too cold to be on the beach this weekend, but treasure hunters in Deal will be scouring the sand to win the big prize at the annual Jersey Shore Treasure Hunt.
Organizers say hunters will go onto the beach with metal detectors to find gold and silver jewelry and coins. They say the hunters can earn prizes based on the treasure they find, and that there will be four hunts throughout the day.
The event is organized by the Deep Search Metal Detecting Club and the East Coast Research Discovery Association.
The hunt will continue until 4 p.m. and a second round will be held Sunday.
