Suffolk Sheriff’s office joins fight against cancer during ‘No-Shave November’


The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office is participating in “No-Shave November” to raise money to support cancer prevention, research and education.
Sherriff Errol D. Toulon Jr. is a two-time cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1996 and pancreatic cancer in 2004.

So far, the Sheriff’s Office has already surpassed its original goal of raising $5,000. As of Nov. 14, it has raised $8,875 – and is still looking for more donations.
According to the World Health Organization, 22,000 people die each day from cancer worldwide. Over the past six years, the No-Shave November campaign has successfully raised over $3.5 million to combat the disease.
