The aggressive wild turkey problem reported by News 12 last week is apparently affecting other parts of Toms River, including the neighborhood of Major League Baseball star Todd Frazier.
The former Mets and Yankees third baseman tweeted at News 12 New Jersey Sunday with a photo of turkeys on top of his car.
"We actually got attacked by a couple of them a year ago. I have three young kids and basically that's all I'm worried about, and basically that's all our neighborhood is worried about and the town of Toms River. For (Fish and) Wildlife to say that they aren't trained or can't do anything about it, it doesn't make any sense to me," he says.
Frazier says the turkey problem has been a ongoing issue for years and it keeps growing as the birds breed.
Frazier's neighbors sent videos of what it looks like during the day in their neighborhood. Along with being chased by the birds, they say there are bird droppings everywhere, that they damage cars and even create traffic jams.
Frazier says that he knows people in north and south Jersey who are having the same kinds of problems, not just in Toms River.
Frazier says he reached out to News 12 to help find the animals a safer place.
He said he reached out to Gov. Murphy, Fish and Wildlife and leaders of Toms River, but nothing has changed. He says he doesn't want them harmed, just removed from the area.
