'Athletes dripping in diamonds': Radio City Rockettes prep for Christmas Spectacular

The Rockettes are getting ready to perform the Radio City Christmas Spectacular -- and some of them are from New Jersey.
The Rockettes have been rehearsing the Christmas Spectacular for the past six weeks.
Among the 80 dancers is LaTarika Pierce, from Orange. She auditioned 10 times before she got the call.
"I knew this was exactly what I wanted to do and I wasn't going to stop until I got here," Pierce said.
The Rockettes are known for precise routines that require a dancer to do as many as 300 high kicks in one show.
"We are definitely athletes. We are athletes dripping in diamonds and we really work hard at what we do," said Amarisa LeBar, of Iselin.
The Rockettes have been a holiday tradition at Radio City Musical Hall since 1933.
"I grew up seeing the show," said Athena Petrizzo, of Toms River. "That was something we did as a family and it's always been a dream of mine and now I can finally say that I'm a Radio City Rockette."
