Thousands of people met their favorite Christmas movie stars and got in the holiday spirit Saturday at Christmas Con in Edison.

The event was started by four best friends, one of whom lives in Holmdel. They love Christmas and watching Christmas movies, so they decided to create the con to bring the same joy to others.

About 9,000 are expected to visit the sold-out event throughout the weekend.

The event features an ugly sweater contest and the winner will go home with $500.
