Essex County prosecutor offers $10K reward in search for group that beat man to death

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is offering $10,000 for information leading to a homicide arrest in the death of a Newark Liberty International Airport security guard.

Samuel V. Gbotoe, 63, was attacked by a group of men and woman on March 13 while walking in Irvington. He died three months later from complications of blunt force trauma.

Authorities released multiple surveillance images Thursday in the search for the group of people who attacked him.

Gbotoe’s attackers were last seen running from the scene on Colombia Avenue.
