Bedminster police put out an alert Thursday stating they are investigating numerous stolen cars and burglaries on several streets in the area.

Police say there were reports of three stolen cars, one report of a failed attempt and five additional cars that were broken into and burglarized on Old Stonehouse Road, Old Dutch Road, Berkshire Court, Ski Hill Drive and Larger Cross Road.

Cash and other items were taken from a few of the cars.

Police say all of the crimes happened between midnight and 4:30 a.m.

Many residents were in disbelief to hear of the crimes.

"I've become very confident in living here,” says Dianne McNally, of Bedminster. “It's a very safe place to live.”

Residents are being reminded not to leave valuables in their cars and to keep their cars locked.

Anyone who may have caught the crime on camera is asked to call Bedminster police.
