The show must go on: Audience lights up theater stage during power outage

Audience members watching a play in Long Branch weren’t going to let a little thing like a power outage stop the show.
When the lights went out at the Sunday matinee of the play “Lily” at the New Jersey Repertory Company, the audience sprang into action by turning on the flashlight apps on their cellphones and lighting up the stage. The actors performed the entire play with the audience’s light. The power never came back on.
When the play was over, actor Christopher Daftsios received a standing ovation.
