Some construction at the problem-plagued American Dream megamall had to be paused Friday due to a lapse in insurance.
A spokesperson for American Dream says that the “minor issue” was being addressed and resolved. The spokesperson blamed the lapse on an administrative issue as they adjust policies from construction to operations.
The Nickelodeon Universe amusement park and ice rink remained open to the public on Friday.
There was no word on when the insurance issues would be resolved or when construction would resume.
American Dream is no stranger to problems. The project took 15 years to open due to ownership changes and construction delays.
Many attractions at the site are not yet open. Restaurants and retail space are expected to open in March of 2020.
