Rutgers’ men’s basketball team is getting ready to open its season on Nov. 7.
The Scarlet Knights finished their 2018-2019 season with a 14-17 record, but they were named the “most improved team” by Sports Illustrated.
The team says that they are looking to keep that trend going for this new season. The players say that this is the most versatile group that they have had in a while.
"We have 11 scholarship players that can all do different things … 11 guys that can bring a lot to the table,” says sophomore Ron Harper Jr. “We can put a lot of lineups out there at different times. We can really surprise people with our versatility and our depth, so we're looking to do that and I think that sets us apart from past teams."
Rutgers will play against Bryant University in the opening game.
