Anyone who ever wished to see the Garden State from 1,000 feet in the air can now have their chance thanks to a new attraction that will open in New York City next year.
News 12 New Jersey got a sneak peek of the New York Edge, which sits on top of Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s West Side. It is considered the western hemisphere’s highest outdoor sky deck at 1,000 feet in the air.
The sky deck offers a 360-degree view, allowing visitors to see for about 80 miles. The glass surrounding the deck is so strong that visitors are able to lean against it to get a better view.
“A normal sky deck is on top of a building and we are off the building. What that means is you can’t get views like this in other places,” says executive director Jason Horkin.
The platform itself is complete, but the full Edge experience is still under construction. It is expected to be completed by March 2020.
Tickets are now available for purchase at the New York Edge’s website.
