Man accused of choking, shocking woman with Taser in Wawa parking lot

Authorities in Jackson have arrested a man wanted since late September, accused of choking and shocking a woman multiple times with a Taser in a Wawa parking lot.

The alleged attack happened back on Sept. 24 around 2:20 p.m.

Jesse Shawger, 26, of Toms River, was taken into custody Tuesday by the Ocean County Sheriff's Department.

According to the woman, the pair were talking when Shawger began using cocaine and attacked her.

He has been charged with criminal restraint, robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault.
