Central Park Conservancy partners to help Gowanus Canal Conservancy grow

A new partnership announced between the Gowanus Canal Conservancy and the Central Park Conservancy is looking to help the Brooklyn organization grow.
The conservancy is one of eight organizations across the country selected to take part in the first Partnerships Lab. It is designed to help smaller advocacy groups achieve specific goals over the course of one year.
The Gowanus Canal Conservancy advocates for sustainable parks and public spaces in the area. The partnership plans to help them better reach the people living in their community.
"Gowanus Canal Conservancy has been operating for 10 almost 15 years at this point and they do a lot of public programs with engagement and education with the community. We want to help them to come up with a strong communications plan for themselves so they can help grow and reach other constituents over the coming years," said GCC Program Manager Salmaan Khan.
The partnership will last one year. Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and the Alliance For Flushing Meadows Corona Park were also selected.
